INTRODUCTION CLASS GLASSBLOWING AND SANDCASTING WITH GERT BULLÉE ON 28 FEBRUARY AND 1 MARCH 2015
During this 2-day introduction course students will learn the basic techniques for glassblowing and sandcasting. Students will get acquainted with 'hot' glass by training exercise: gathering glass on the blowpipe, blow a post, using a pontil, opening up the bubble, the use of colours, casting glass in a mould... Experience the fascinating transformation of liquid glass into a chosen form and take some unique self-made glass objects home.
Gert Bullée was born in the glass city Leerdam (the Netherlands). Ever since he was a child his dream was to become a glassblower. This dream became reality when he could start as a student glassblower at the Royal Leerdam Crystal glass factory at the age of 16. Here he was educated according to the old guilds from pupil to master glassblower.
